a little franti, a little jimmy carter, a little better day

well when all else fails, and you’re in a bad mood, you’re mad at life & church & people, you  feel poor & tired & confused,  well take a break & sip some good medicine.  listen to some michael franti.  it’s sure to make you smile:

and when you’re all done with that, read jimmy carter’s beautiful move to separate from a system that subjugates women: losing my religion for equality.  real change is possible if more and more powerful leaders take a stand with more than just words.

here’s to a little better day.  peace, kathy

  • Hi Kath,

I’m sorry you’re having a bad day, but glad you let us know.

I rarely comment here, but I stay current with every post. I love reading about your life, family, non-churchy church, your victories, struggles, and hearing you speak for so many who’s voices have been robbed, or muffled.

I also applaud all of your friends new and old, near and far, who regularly take time to let you know you are heard…and to thank you for what you do for us.

You inspire me often to think about things I don’t want to think about. To do the hard, but better thing. To see others as the beautiful creations they are and are becoming.

And today you inspired me to tell you so.

  • Hello friend….thanks for the links, not so sure about Franti but loved reading the words of Jimmy Carter!!

I hate it when life is difficult for you but love when you share it with us…it makes me feel a bit more sane. Love you much!!

  • Thanks for the suggestions. I personally find “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart, brightens my day. Are you having a bad day? I guess I just thought you were suggesting it for others…because of course “Super” Kathy doesn’t have a bad day does she? Ummm…I was kidding. If you are having a bad day, I hope that all the stuff you mentioned above, plus knowing that a lot of people really love and respect you (I didn’t think saying that I do would have as large an impact as “A lot of people”:), will make it a little more tolerable.

  • I am having a bad day today. In fact my facebook status update is “looking for Aslan in the land of the living.” I’m thinking that you, your post/s (have read several) and MICHAEL FRANTI are the place where I can run my hand in the lion’s mane. thank you. (I know this is an old post so I hope you get this comment – you blessed me mightily today – thank you.)
